A slow, savory summer~
Each season, I like to sit down and set an intention. If I have some spare time to create, I love to pull together a vision board to help me visualize the intention and really feel it in my body.
The word savor popped into my head this season, and it truly feels so fitting. To me, it combines slow living and the bustle of summer. No matter how fast things are moving in the outside world, one thing I can control is how much I savor each and every moment.
Each juicy heirloom tomato I eat this summer, you best believe I’ll be savoring every single bite.
Each dip into the lovely puget sound will be nothing short of magical.
Each hike up the hill to my garden, sweat gathering at the rim of my straw hat, I’ll even savor those moments where there’s a momentary “hard” to get to a soft moment just up ahead.
Swinging with my daughter on the swingset, hearing her giggle and so full of joy, I’ll absolutely be savoring those moments too.
The good, the bad, all of it. There’s so much beauty in every single moment if we know where to look for it.
It’s all worth savoring, this summer and every season.
Next year, I’d love to take a trip to the Italian countryside. It’s been calling to me lately, and slow living has become such a huge part of my life. It feels fitting to vacation somewhere people truly know how to move slowly.
Wishing you a savory summer season,
Kaitlyn
